| South Korean Rhinoplasty Surgery
Rhinoplasty nose reshaping is one of most commonly performed Korean plastic surgeries. While the basic concepts of Asian rhinoplasty are similar to those in the non-Asian patient, technical execution is different and more difficult.
The large majority of people of Korean descent are seeking nasal augmentation (augmentation rhinoplasty) and/or tip enhancement. Europeans, on the other hand, generally request reduction.

On average, the Korean nose appears more triangular than in the non-Asian as viewed from the front. The bridge is often flatter, the spine shorter, and the nasal tip less angular and wider. The opening of the nostrils appear relatively larger and more flared.
Rhinoplasty on the Asian nose can be more challenging because the cartilage is more fragile while the skin above it is thicker.
Many Korean patients request an increase in tip projection to lengthen the nose and lower an upward angle.
Although many Asian patients feel they may benefit the most from augmentation of the bridge and spine, people from Korea sometimes request less or none at all.
The desire for nostril reduction is also more frequent in southeast Asians than it is in those from Korea.
